Expanding Inclusion with Assistive Technologies
The Sierra Leone Digital Transformation Project (SLDTP) is advancing inclusivity in the country’s digital agenda by supporting the purchase of assistive technologies for four disability institutions. Two of these institutions are based in the city, while two others are in the provinces—ensuring a balanced reach across both urban and rural communities.
Bridging Barriers with Technology
The assistive technologies being provided will help:
- Enhance learning and education for students with disabilities
- Improve communication and access to information
- Expand opportunities for skills training and participation in public services
Driving Inclusive Digital Transformation
This intervention is part of the broader vision of the SLDTP to ensure that no one is left behind in Sierra Leone’s digital future. Through this initiative, the project seeks to:
- Create a more accessible environment in schools and training centers
- Enable persons with disabilities to participate in the digital economy
- Promote equal opportunities in education and employment.
Building a More Equitable Society
Through this initiative, the SLDTP is laying the groundwork for a society where technology empowers everyone, regardless of ability or location. This milestone reflects the project’s commitment to ensuring that Sierra Leone’s digital transformation is inclusive, equitable, and truly national in scope.
Final deliverables are expected in October 2025.
